January in western MA

Hello from Westhampton.   We are very happy to report that we have had our first etsy sale of our own alpaca/merino blend yarn. The yarn is heading off to Texas today!

We hope the buyer is as happy with it  as we are...we have made several items with it, sweaters and shawls for family and friends.   It works up very soft and warm.

The alpacas are doing well, staying warm under their growing fleece.  The leader of the gang, Amos, has started to show some gray/white in his coat this past year.  Guess it had to happen, sooner or later.

Hope everyone is staying warm and well.

Carey has just updated our website.   Check it out, now with links to our etsy page.  Having finished our Christmas gifts, we continue to work on hand-knit items for birthdays,  new babies, and slightly older babies.

Our four alpacas are enjoying their new barn.    One of our hens has been roosting out there with them for several months now.   They are quite compatible.   We have even found an egg or two in the feed hay.

That's it for now.   More to come.

Notes from a craft fair weekend...

Had a great day in Cummington, at the Handmade for Kid's Holiday Fair.   Great turnout, and always nice to meet fellow crafters......lots of talent in this area.

We are working on our etsy page, expect it to be live soon with our yarn, and other goodies......will keep you posted.

Craft fair goodies

Here are some of the goodies we'll be selling at the Handmade for Kids Holiday Fair in Cummington this Saturday.

We've got stripy snake scarves in all sizes.

Here's Ellie modeling a snake last winter.

Handwarmers, to fit both kids and adult-sized kids.  These are great for texting or typing, or anytime you want a little more warmth.

And a pile of quilts.   We have both "regular" quilts, with batting, and lighter-weight quilts with nice flannel backings.  Both types are 100% cotton and machine-washable.  The size is good for a baby or toddler, or as a throw for an older kid.

We will also have some other goodies, like mini sweaters (good for ornaments, to attach to presents, or to dress up a doll), and other kinds of scarves.

Welcome to Westhampton Woolies

Good morning, and welcome to this first post.    We wanted to capture our animals in the early morning fog.
